#MuslimJoy Hashtag Pushes Back Against #MuslimBan

On Friday (January 27), President Donald Trump issued an executive order titled “Protecting the Nation From Foreign Terrorist Entry Into the United States.” The order—which was not available on the White House website at press time, but can be read in full here, via CNN—bans nationals of seven countries with majority-Muslim populations from entering the United States. The order bars refugees fleeing Syria indefinitely, and people from Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen for the next 90 days.

In reaction to the order, which has been dubbed the #MuslimBan, Twitter user Najwa (@_poelitical) encouraged Muslims to use the hashtag #MuslimJoy to post photos of themselves at their most joyful:
